Morning Songs

Frequently, I wake up in the morning with a song stuck in my head. Maybe I dreamed the song...I don't know. But I'll usually take action to get it out of my head, even if it's just playing the song in the car on the way to work.

This morning I woke up with the Dr. Demento classic "Dead Puppies Aren't Much Fun" stuck in my head.

And I don't have a copy of it to play.

This could be a long day...

Brooklyn responding. I couldn't help it, I have to pass on my infallible method for getting a song out of one's head. As a musician, this is a necessity:

The key is to embrace the song in your head, wish it to stay, but force it to lose. Pick a catchy song with a powerful beat and put it into your CD player. Attempt with all your will to sing the song in your head out loud, strongly enough to overcome the CD song. If you are able to do so, turn the CD player louder and try again. Try and try until you fail, until the louder song washes it away. Hum the louder song for a couple of minutes.

This has never failed me.
